    Hi,

I'm not sure what even to call this or if there is a specific name for this. I've spent many an hour trying to figure this out.

So here is what I'm trying to do. I'm selling cookies for my daughter and I'm trying to keep track of inventory, sales, etc. I have 2 categories setup. COOKIE INVENTORY and COOKIE SALES. The INVENTORY has separate entries for each cookie flavor, initial quantity, quantity sold, etc. The SALES category has info on customer, what they bought (flavor and quantity), etc. What i'm trying to figure out is how do I get my INVENTORY category to change (the amount sold) when I place and order in the SALES category.

Maybe this is something that can't be done yet or I just don't know how to do it. Any help would be appreciated.

I am afraid there is not currently a completely automated way to do this. You can create an 'Auto-Fill' column in the INVENTORY category that picks up the quantity from the SALES category. Then you can define a calculation in the INVENTORY category that uses this field and the inventory value. However, following this approach would need an edit/update of the auto-filled field value each time the sales category changed. Auto-filled fields are only populated on initial creation of an item or when the refresh button is pressed (which appears when in edit mode).
